A conversation with Anna Palmer, the creator behind Form Norfolk.

“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”
Albert Einstein

For Anna Palmer lockdown meant lots of free time and a desire for change, and although it was far from ideal it created precisely the conditions that led to the launch of Form Norfolk, her authentically handmade jewellery business. “It’s just kind of grown – I wasn’t planning on creating a small business, it’s just evolved and it’s been really enjoyable!”

Running a successful small business had not been her intention but it was a fruitful period. “I, like lots of people, found myself with lots of time on my hands… I was trying more and more creative things and started making jewellery – the type of jewellery that I like, which is big, chunky jewellery.”

Like all the best ideas, there’s a wonderful simplicity to her designs, and they’re clearly resonating with her audience.

“Before I knew it ‘Form Norfolk’ was born...”
Anna Palmer

After sending some of her creations to friends, Anna realised that her new hobby represented a potential business opportunity. “Before I knew it ‘Form Norfolk’ was born,” says Anna. “I got a logo and off I went!”

Specialising in contemporary statement jewellery, she now has an Etsy shop selling a range of beautiful and unique necklaces, headbands and earrings, all of which she currently makes personally, and all handmade to order.

“I don’t know where it’s going to go next so it’s really exciting…”
Anna Palmer

“I began by selling online, then started attending a variety of markets. Now the products are stocked in shops across the country, which is amazing, and I don’t know where it’s going to go next so it’s really exciting… I'm always learning on the go about running a small business but I love what I'm doing and those that have treated themselves to an item, seem to love them too.”
