On April 14th 1966 Richard left his house and walked across to the Edwards & Holmes shoe factory, twenty-one years later he was a skilled clicker in one of Norwich's finest shoe factories.

A sometimes hazardous but highly skilled job ‘clickers’ were responsible for cutting the leather and materials used in the upper of each shoe. Considered the elite in any shoe factory Richard continues to use the skills he has perfect over 48 years since he first crossed that road.
